Key capabilities of the new Sharpcut system include:
• Triple Interchangeable Tool Head: Routing, knife-cutting, and creasing tools held simultaneously with automatic selection for each job.
• Automated Conveyor System: Continuous feed for rolls, textiles, and rigid boards with optional Automatic Board Feeder handling up to 70 boards per hour.
• Vision Registration: High-resolution camera reads registration marks and dynamically adjusts cut paths for accurate results on printed media.
• Precision Engineering: Aerospace-grade aluminum gantry and helical rack-and-pinion drive deliver ±0.004 inch accuracy per 30 inches of travel.
• 6-Zone Vacuum System: Independent zone control maximizes hold-down pressure while saving energy.
• Large Format Capacity: 5' x 10' bed size accommodates oversized substrates and high-volume production runs.
LamPro Industries
LamPro Industries (LPi) is proud to announce a significant investment in our production capabilities with the acquisition of the Colex Sharpcut Pro SXC1732 Conveyor system. The new machine is scheduled to arrive and be fully operational by the end of the year, marking a major step forward in our commitment to precision, efficiency, and large-scale production.

The Sharpcut Pro SXC1732 is a top-of-the-line flatbed cutter designed to handle a wide variety of substrates with speed and accuracy. With a massive 5' x 10' bed size, this machine will allow LPi to cut shapes and contours on a scale previously unavailable to us, significantly reducing turnaround times for our clients.

What truly sets the Sharpcut apart is its Triple Interchangeable Tool Head. Rather than switching between separate machines for routing, knife-cutting, and creasing, the SXC1732 holds three tools simultaneously and automatically selects the right one for each job. For LPi, this means we can contour-cut a printed graphic, router a rigid acrylic display, and crease a corrugated packaging prototype—all in a single production run, without downtime between operations.

The SXC1732 is also built around Colex's automated conveyor system, which transforms how LPi handles high-volume work. Instead of stopping production to load and unload each piece, our operators can feed materials continuously—whether that's rolls of vinyl, textiles, or stacks of rigid boards. The machine's integrated roll feeder and clamping bar keep media moving through the cutting head without interruption, meaning faster turnaround times for every job we run. With the optional Automatic Board Feeder, the Sharpcut can process up to 70 soft boards per hour, pallet to pallet—a level of throughput that simply isn't possible with manual loading.

The machine's vision registration system is equally transformative. A high-resolution camera reads registration marks on printed media and dynamically adjusts the cut path to match, compensating for any stretching or misalignment that occurred during printing. The result is clean, accurate cuts every time—even on complex, multi-layered graphics.

For our clients, the most visible benefit is quality. The Sharpcut's aerospace-grade aluminum gantry and high-precision helical rack-and-pinion drive deliver positioning accuracy of ±0.004 inches per 30 inches of travel. In practical terms, that means polished edges on routed acrylic and aluminum, intricate lettering cut cleanly, and consistent results across an entire production run.

"We are thrilled to bring the Colex Sharpcut into the LPi family," said Josh Steig, Owner of LPi. "This machine isn't just about speed; it's about unlocking new possibilities for our clients. The 5' x 10' capacity and precision cutting capabilities will allow us to take on more complex projects and deliver them with the quality our customers expect."

The installation will be handled by a certified Colex technician, who will level and assemble the machine. Following the installation, LPi staff will undergo an intensive three-day hands-on training program. By the end of the week, our operators will be fully trained to run the machine independently, ensuring that LPi can immediately begin delivering high-quality finished products to our customers.
